A SHATTERED LIFE – ESPOO IN THE FINNISH CIVIL WAR

 

The exhibition tells about the fates of the people of Espoo during the civil war (1917-1918). Divided nations and hate speech were present at that time as well. The society was fragile as it was part of collapsed Russian empire.

NEW LIGHTING FOR GALLEN-KALLELA FRESCOS

 

These Akseli Gallen-Kallela frescos may be found from the National museum of Finland. They are inspired by Kalevala, epic poetry compiled by Elias Lönnrot from Karelian and Finnish oral folklore and mythology.
